Zanthoxylum bungeanum is a traditional Chinese medicine. Zanthoxylum schinifolium Sieb. Et Zucc. Or Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim. Harvest mature fruits in autumn, dry them in the sun, and remove seeds and impurities. The pods are mostly solitary, 4-5mm in diameter. The outer surface is purplish red or brownish red, and there are many verrucous oil spots with a diameter of 0.5-lmm; The inner surface is light yellow. The aroma is strong, spicy and lasting. It is mainly produced in Liaoning, Hebei and Sichuan. Traditionally, Sichuan is the best.
